Job summary

Mission Australia is seeking a Community Engagement Officer in Meekatharra, WA. This on-site role contributes to the Remote School Attendance Strategy, working with families, schools and local agencies to improve attendance and engagement.

You will build trusted relationships, support families to participate in schooling, and provide culturally respectful assistance to strengthen education outcomes for children and young people.

Qualifications

• Full driver licence required.
• Strong community connections and local knowledge valued.
• Excellent communication skills with diverse groups.
• Experience in community service, education support or similar roles.

Responsibilities

• Monitor attendance and engage with families to support regular school attendance.
• Collaborate with school staff to address attendance issues and follow up with families.
• Assist with school lunches and support canteen operations as needed.
• Support daily school bus runs and encourage student engagement in education.
• Perform data entry, reporting and maintain accurate records.
