Job summary

City of Moreton Bay seeks a Community Development Coordinator to lead our community development function, setting direction and building organisational influence to deliver measurable community outcomes. You will lead a 13-person multi-disciplinary team through two Team Leaders, shaping long-term strategy and ensuring impact across diverse communities.

You will drive a culture of outcomes, enhance the profile of community development, and influence decision-making across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a multidisciplinary team and setting a clear vision.
• Knowledge of community inclusion strategies and working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, multicultural communities and people experiencing homelessness.
• Strong strategic thinking, planning and implementation skills with ability to translate vision into action.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
• Experience navigating government or similarly complex organisations.

Join City of Moreton Bay as a Community Development Coordinator. You will be the strategic leader of our community development function - setting direction, building organisational influence and ensuring our work delivers meaningful and measurable community outcomes.

As a Community Development Coordinator, you will:

• Provide strategic leadership and direction to a multi-disciplinary team of 13 through two Team Leaders, enabling them to lead day-to-day operations while you focus on long-term direction, performance and organisational impact.
• Enhance the profile and reputation of community development across the organisation, influencing decision making and fostering understanding of the value community development delivers.
• Drive a culture focused on outcomes and impact, helping Council understand and demonstrate how community development initiatives contribute to lasting change for communities.
• Provide leadership support to two experienced Team Leaders across a diverse portfolio including:
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
• Multicultural communities
• People experiencing homelessness (including the Public Space Liaison Officer team)
• Community Resilience and Recovery
• Prevention of Family and Domestic Violence and Abuse
• Eco Fest, Grow it Local, Connected Communities and so much more!
• Navigate the opportunities and challenges of delivering community development outcomes within a local government environment.

You are an experienced and respected leader who knows how to lead through others. You understand that your greatest impact comes not from managing every detail, but from setting a clear vision, creating the conditions for success, and empowering capable leaders to deliver.
