As part of this commitment, we are delivering the Safe Landings Program, an innovative initiative focused on improving airstrip safety, community preparedness, and access to emergency healthcare across Western Australia (WA).
As the Community Airstrip Advisor, you will be the public face of the Safe Landings Program, working directly with communities, airstrip owners, operators, local governments and key stakeholders throughout regional WA.

This is a full-time position offered on a 12-month contract.
This role offers a flexible working arrangement that supports both operational requirements and work-life balance. While the position is primarily worked Monday to Friday, there may be occasions where weekend, after-hours, or travel are required to meet the needs of the role. In these circumstances, Time in Lieu (TIL) will be provided in accordance with organisational policies. Regular engagement with stakeholders across regional and remote communities is an important aspect of this position.

Knowledge of the unique needs and challenges experienced by rural and remote communities is highly valued, along with an understanding of the RFDS's mission to deliver essential health care to regional and remote regions. This role is integral to maintaining safe and accessible community airstrips, helping ensure reliable access to health care and vital community connections.

The RFDS WA supports more than 20,000 patients each year across the largest health jurisdiction in Australia. From bases in Jandakot, Broome, Port Hedland, Kalgoorlie and Meekatharra, our teams deliver emergency care, primary health and industrial services through world-class aviation, clinical and support systems.
