Job summary

uWorkin in North West Queensland is seeking a hands-on Communications Technician to join a site‑based mining operation on a 7/7 or 8/6 FIFO roster, with flights from Townsville or Cairns.

You will install, maintain and optimise radio and communications networks, troubleshoot UHF/VHF links, support leaky feeder and VoIP telephony, maintain CCTV, and document system configurations while collaborating with IT and operations to ensure reliable on‑site connectivity.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or demonstrated experience in Radio Communications, Telecommunications, Electronics, ICT, or similar.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence.
• Experience working with communications infrastructure in industrial/mining environments.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and support radio and communications systems.
• Maintain and troubleshoot UHF/VHF radio networks.
• Support leaky feeder communication systems.
• Perform fault finding, repairs, and system optimisation.
• Maintain CCTV and telephony (VoIP) systems.
• Deliver infrastructure upgrades and commissioning activities.
• Maintain accurate documentation and system records.
• Respond to incidents and escalations as required.
• Work closely with IT and operational teams to ensure seamless connectivity across site.

Your New Role
