Brennan Sourcing Pty. in Melbourne seeks a Communications Specialist to own APAC communications, from shaping the plan to designing banners and running town halls. You will create stories by talking to people, capture photos and video, and publish multiple LinkedIn stories weekly.
You will build the APAC comms plan, deliver quick wins, then drive bigger changes, and adapt global announcements for local audiences. This is a hands-on generalist role with substantial ownership.
One comms role. The whole comms function. Your name on all of it.
In most organisations, communications is split across a team: a writer, a designer, an events person, a strategist and a lead. This role is all of them.
Our client is part of a global, NYSE-listed group with a large footprint across Australia and New Zealand. They're looking for a Communications Specialist in Melbourne to own communications for the Asia Pacific business, from shaping the plan to designing the banner and running the town hall.
Finding the stories yourself: talking to people, capturing photos and video, and publishing several LinkedIn stories a week.
Looking at how comms works today and building the plan for what comes next: quick wins first, bigger changes after.
Turning a short brief at 4pm into a clear, focused message by 10am: one message, not eight.
Building and restructuring the SharePoint intranet properly, beyond posting news, and supporting the external website with marketing.
Designing banners, posters and e-newsletters in Canva, Adobe and Mailchimp.
Running town halls from start to finish: venue, tech, vendors, leader slides, briefing the video editor and the day itself.
Delivering company events such as R U OK? Day and Safety Week.
Adapting global announcements for an APAC audience.
Exploring new channels, including growing social beyond LinkedIn.
Solid internal comms experience, ideally as a generalist or in a small team.
Hands-on skills in SharePoint (structure, not just posting news), Canva, Adobe, Mailchimp and PowerPoint, plus responsible use of AI.
Town halls or large staff events you've run yourself.
Enough credibility to tell a senior leader "there's a better way", and the judgement to know when to just get it done.
Calm under pressure. When one email changes your whole day, you reprioritise and keep going.
A "less is more" approach to writing and slides.
This role IS for you if you love variety, want real ownership, and are as happy designing a poster as advising an executive.
It's NOT for you if you'd rather advise than do, or there's a part of comms you'd rather hand to someone else.
Melbourne, 3 days a week in the office. That's where the best stories come from.
Occasional early or late calls with the global team in the US.
Immediate start preferred.
Your ideas will land quickly, and you'll be the person the business turns to for communications.
