The opportunity

MinRes is seeking a Communications Manager to help lead the next phase of our Communications & Brand function.

You will report to the General Manager Communications & Brand and work alongside the Brand & Content Manager to strengthen the company’s communications and brand framework and the narrative that runs through it.

The Communications Manager will lead a multidisciplinary team of five, own the communications framework and editorial standards and advise senior executives on reputation, positioning and stakeholder sentiment.

You will also set the direction and the quality bar, backing a capable team of specialists to own delivery in their portfolios and channels.

Key responsibilities
  • Own the MinRes-wide communications roadmap, aligning portfolio and channel plans with business and function priorities.
  • Work with the GM Communications & Brand and the Brand & Content Manager to strengthen corporate messaging, channel architecture and brand frameworks – targeting a coherent narrative across corporate, operational, employer brand, investor and community communications.
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of five across communications, digital and content functions. You will set expectations, balance workloads and ensure accountability for outcomes.
  • Set and maintain editorial standards for accuracy, quality and consistency across internal and external communications, in step with the MinRes Brand Guidelines.
  • Continue to improve communications with frontline employees, using new and existing channels to ensure our site teams are informed and engaged.
  • Own the function's budget and its agency, platform and vendor relationships.
  • Lead the delivery and optimisation of our website, intranet, careers portals, social and email channels, in close consultation with the Digital Lead.
  • Own the measurement framework for communications and digital channels (brand sentiment, share of voice, engagement), using data and insight to guide priorities and report outcomes.
  • Lead our communications response to sensitive issues and crises, working closely with key stakeholders and subject matter experts.
What you will bring
  • A Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing or a related field.
  • 10+ years' experience in communications, corporate affairs, PR or media, including senior strategic roles.
  • Demonstrated experience leading communications strategy in a large, complex, ASX-listed organisation.
  • Proven experience leading and developing a multidisciplinary team, including digital and content specialists.
  • Experience owning a function budget and managing agency or vendor commercial relationships.
  • Experience in crisis communications and issues management, including digital and social response.
  • A strong understanding of ASX disclosure and the regulatory frameworks governing listed company communications.
  • Working understanding of digital channel management (website, intranet, social media), sufficient to set strategy and govern standards without needing to execute directly.
  • A collaborative leadership style, with experience working as a peer alongside brand, marketing or content leaders
