As a Communications and Control Technician based in Gladstone or Townsville, you will be joining a supportive and collaborative team, working on exciting projects with the latest technology.
Within the Secondary Systems team, your role will involve working throughout the state of Queensland, operating, maintaining and upgrading our transmission network.
You will have the opportunity to work on a range of cutting-edge carrier grade telecommunications equipment and control systems that protect and operate the network, with industry leading transmission technical training and support. The role involves installing, testing, commissioning and fault-finding complex telecommunications, electrical and logical circuits complementing HV systems.
Based in Gladstone or Townsville, you will join our Field and Asset Management Team, working within Secondary Systems and report to our Section Team Leaders within the Field Delivery Group, you’ll join a highly skilled team dedicated to the operation of Powerlink’s high voltage substation network.
You enjoy continual learning, working in a supportive and collaborative team environment, are highly accountable, take pride in providing a quality service and have a keen interest in working on technologically advanced systems.
Bring your experience and knowledge of; maintenance, testing and commissioning of multiplexer systems (PDH, SDH, and DWDM), MPLS-TP, fibre optic, and microwave radio. Testing and commissioning of associated Control and SCADA systems.
You will be involved in predominately field based work using industry standard test equipment; and analysing and fault finding on complex electrical circuitry and schemes.
Requirements:
If you do not already hold an Associate degree or Advanced diploma in a related Electrical or Electronic Engineering field, it is expected that you will have willingness to undertake studies to achieve this. Powerlink will support you toward achieving required tertiary qualifications.
