Job summary

Portable Long Service Authority is seeking a Communications Adviser to support the delivery of communications and engagement initiatives. You will develop high-quality content across digital and traditional channels, support media and events, and promote awareness of the long service benefits scheme to workers, employers and stakeholders.

• Leading, developing and delivering communication activities, campaigns and content.
• Strong content design, writing and editing skills, and an ability to produce accurate audience-focused communications.
• Applying a customer-centric approach to creating, review and optimise digital content, including web publishing, content design and user experience principles.
• Analysing communication and channel performance data to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
• Working collaboratively to understand communication needs and deliver high-quality outputs within deadlines.
• Being organised and able to manage competing priorities, delegate and produce quality work in a timely manner.
• Understanding of contemporary communication practices, accessibility requirements, brand governance and public sector communication principles.

The Portable Long Service Authority (the Authority) is a self-funded statutory body established to administer the Long Service Benefits Portability Act 2018. The Act, together with the Long Service Benefits Portability Regulations 2020 provide a Portable Long Service Benefits Scheme. The Authority plays an important role in allowing workers in the community services, contract cleaning and security industries to build up long service benefits based on time in their industry rather than with a single employer.
