Job summary

This mining operation is seeking a Communications Technician to maintain and support operational technology across site, including radio communications, wireless networks and fleet management tooling for a large mobile equipment fleet. The role starts on a day-shift roster with potential to move to day/night coverage.

You’ll work on Motorola P25, LTE and Cisco networks, perform fault finding and preventative maintenance, and assist with upgrades and installations.

Qualifications

• Mining or heavy industrial communications experience.
• Radio, wireless or telecommunications background.
• Exposure to Motorola, P25, Cisco, LTE or similar systems.
• Fleet management / Modular experience highly regarded.
• Strong fault-finding skills and quality workmanship.
• Willingness to learn new systems and technologies.
• Flexibility to work days/nights if required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support radio communications systems across site.
• Support Motorola/P25 systems and related telecoms infrastructure.
• Ensure Cisco wireless networks operate reliably.
• Oversee LTE communications and fleet management tooling.
• Maintain wireless equipment across the mobile mining fleet.
• Support terrain and associated mining technology.
• Conduct fault finding, inspections, repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Assist with upgrades and installation work.

We’re looking for an experienced Communications Technician to join a large mining operation in Central Queensland.

The role will initially operate on a day-shift roster, supporting site communications, wireless networks and fleet management technology across a large mobile equipment fleet. There may be a requirement to move onto day/night coverage in the future, so flexibility is preferred.
