Job summary

The Thermal Customer Engineer (Technician) – Commissioning is a highly specialised technical role within the APAC ANZ division, responsible for delivering end-to-end commissioning of precision cooling systems including CDU, CRAC, CRAH, FWU and TWU units.

Reporting directly to the Service Operations Manager – Start Up Services, ANZ, this role ensures reliable operation of mission critical thermal infrastructure across large-scale environments, including Tier 1 Data Centres.

Responsibilities

• Own the commissioning process from start to finish - You'll lead the full commissioning cycle across Vertiv's CDU, CRAC, CRAH, FWU & TWU units, delivering critical infrastructure.
• Work on landmark projects - Carry out L2, L3, and L4 commissioning tasks on Tier 1 Data Centre sites.
• Broaden your expertise - Support the Service Team with maintenance and time & material works across the asset lifecycle.
• Be the face of Vertiv - Build trusted relationships with customers through professional, solutions-focused interactions.

Job description

TheThermal Customer Engineer (Technician) – Commissioningis a highly specialised technical role within the APAC ANZdivision, responsible for delivering end-to-end commissioning ofprecision cooling systemsincludingComputer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC),Computer Room Air Handlers (CRAH),Fan Wall Units (FWU), andCoolant Distribution Units (CDU). Reporting directly to theService Operations Manager – Start Up Services, ANZ, this role is pivotal in ensuring the reliable and efficient operation ofmission critical Thermal Infrastructureacross large-scale environments, includingTier 1 Data Centres.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Reporting:

• Time Sheets - Digital reporting tool to be used to accurately record hours worked each day.
• Commissioning/Service Reports - to be completed within set timeframes.
• Proactively communicate project progress and any site issues to the Project Manager & Service Operations Manager.

Operational Delivery:

• Own the commissioning process from start to finish -You'll lead the full commissioning cycle across Vertiv's complete range of CDU, CRAC, CRAH, FWU & TWU units, delivering critical infrastructure that keeps the world's most important facilities running.
• Work on landmark projects -Carry out L2, L3, and L4 commissioning tasks alongside experienced Vertiv Project & Commissioning Managers. If you've previously worked on Tier 1 Data Centre sites, you'll feel right at home here.
• Broaden your expertise -This isn't a one-dimensional role. You'll also support the Service Team with maintenance and time & material works, giving you exposure across the full asset lifecycle.

Daily Work Duties and expectations:

• Travel to various sites, includingremote locations, requiring a validDriver's Licence.
• Undertakeovernight or extended travelas project demands require.
• Working on and around Energised Electrical equipment,adhering strictly to safety protocols.
• Safely work onlive refrigerant lines and pressure vessels, in compliance with refrigerant handling regulations and licensing requirements.
• Working and Heights (needs Work at Heights Training and refreshed every 5 years)
• Operate withinHVAC mechanical systems, demonstrating physical adaptability including working inawkward body positionsas required by the equipment configuration.
• Undertakemanual handling tasks, including lifting, carrying, and relocating equipment and components in accordance with WHS guidelines (e.g Compressors, Gas Bottles etc.).
