Job summary

John Holland in partnership with McConnell Dowell is delivering the Kidston Pumped Storage Hydro Project in Far North Queensland. This role focuses on managing completions from construction through handover, coordinating with QA, commissioning and field teams to drive efficient turnover and documentation.

You will apply your experience in completions, commissioning or turnover on major projects, read drawings and specs, manage ITRs and punch lists, and ensure a robust handover package for safe,

Qualifications

• Experience in Completions, Commissioning or Turnover roles on major projects.
• Strong working knowledge of CCMS / Hexagon Smart Completions (or similar)
• Solid understanding of the full completions lifecycle
• Hands-on experience with ITRs, punch lists and handover documentation
• Able to read drawings/specs and work across QA/QC processes
• Strong stakeholder coordination and problem-solving skills
• Relevant engineering degree or trade background

About the Project - Kidston Pumped Storage Hydro:

John Holland in partnership with McConnell Dowell (Joint Venture) are delivering the Kidston Pumped Storage Hydro Project in Far North Queensland. This is an innovative project that involves the world-first conversion of a disused gold mine into a pumped storage hydroelectric power generation facility in Far North Queensland (270km North West of Townsville).

The project will see the conversion of two existing mine pits into reservoirs, involving the construction of significant underground infrastructure including a large powerhouse cavern and waterway shafts and tunnels to allow the transfer of water between upper and lower reservoirs to generate power during peak periods and return water back to the upper reservoir during off peak periods.

This project received funding from ARENA as part of ARENA's Advancing Renewables Program and is a gamechanger for the clean energy industry worldwide as it is an entirely new approach to large-scale energy storage.

What you will do
