Oaks Sunshine Coast Oasis Resort on the Sunshine Coast (Caloundra, 4551) is seeking a passionate Commis Chef to join our kitchen on a casual basis. You will assist with the preparation and presentation of dishes across all sections and help deliver an exceptional dining experience for guests.

To be successful, you will hold a Certificate III in Cookery, have knowledge of Modern Australian cuisine, and understand HACCP and OH&S requirements.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Cookery required.

Job Description

Are you interested in relocating to the Sunshine Coast?

Oaks Sunshine Coast Oasis Resort are looking for a passionate and motivated Commis Chef to join our kitchen team on a casual basis.

This role is essential in supporting the smooth operation of the kitchen, assisting with the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes, and helping deliver an exceptional dining experience for guests.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Assist with the preparation and presentation of dishes across all sections of the kitchen.
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service and smooth operations.
• Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
• Take initiative to develop culinary skills and grow within a professional kitchen environment.
• Support less experienced team members when required.

Shift Details (subject to change):

• Rotating roster across Monday to Sunday
• No split shifts required
• Shifts may include breakfast, lunch, and dinner services (dinner closes at 7.45pm)

Hourly Rates (excluding superannuation):

Monday - Friday: $36.81 per hour

Saturday: $44.18 per hour

Sunday: $51.54 per hour

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Relevant Certificate III in Cookery and previous experience in a similar role.
• Knowledge of Modern Australian Cuisine.
• Understanding of HACCP and Workplace Health and Safety (OH&S) requirements.
• Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic team environment.
• Flexibility to work across a range of shifts, including weekends.
• Ability to coach and motivate less experienced kitchen team members.
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
