Job summary

Ventia is seeking a Commercial Manager for a 12-month maternity cover engagement in South-East Queensland. The role offers full-time hours with flexible work-from-home options negotiated.

You will provide strategic commercial leadership across the Seqwater network’s maintenance and service delivery, delivering value and strong contract performance. About The Contract

Ventia was awarded the contract to deliver preventative, corrective, and reactive maintenance, along with electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation services across the Seqwater network of 35 water treatment plants, 95 pump stations, and 26 referable dams.

Fully mobilised in February 2025, our 125 strong team continue to deliver service excellence across the entire Seqwater network. The network expands as far as Gympie in the north, to the NSW border in the south, and from North Stradbroke Island in the east, to the base of the Toowoomba Ranges in the west.

About The Role

As the Commercial Manager, you will provide strategic commercial leadership and guidance to the client and project team, ensuring strong contract performance, compliance, and value delivery.

This is an outstanding opportunity to influence outcomes, build trusted stakeholder relationships, and drive initiatives that enhance both operational and commercial success.

Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Build and maintain client relationships
• Oversee the reporting of KPI performance and compliance ensuring targets are achieved, as well as formulating and implementing improvement strategies
• Lead the engagement and negotiations of subcontractor agreements with suppliers.
• Manage project risk register in conjunction with the project team, and implement commercial and financial risk analysis
• Manage a regular project health check regime with corporate stakeholders.
• Deliver specified training to uplift commercial capability to the project team.
• Drive commercial performance and maximise revenue opportunities by identifying strategic growth initiatives and ensuring targeted commercial improvements are successfully delivered and realised.

About You

To be successful in your application, you will have Tertiary qualifications in Business, Law, Engineering, Finance or Project Management or extensive experience in contract or commercial management accompanied by:

• An ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders
• Proven track record of successful commercial negotiations, strategic thinking and relationship management
• Ability to influence outcomes and decisions
• High degree of leadership capability
