Job summary

JLegal Brisbane is seeking a commercial litigation lawyer with 3–5 years of post-admission experience to join its disputes team. You will handle a broad range of commercial and civil disputes for corporate clients, private businesses and individuals.

Working alongside senior practitioners, you will manage matters, develop client relationships and build your litigation skills within a collaborative, supportive environment with ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years post-admission experience in commercial litigation or dispute resolution.
• Experience handling a broad range of commercial and civil disputes.
• Strong drafting, research and analytical abilities.
• Familiarity with court procedures and dispute resolution processes.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and communicate with clients.

Responsibilities

• Work across a varied portfolio of contentious matters including commercial and contractual disputes.
• Handle property-related litigation, corporate disputes, insolvency matters and debt recovery.
• Draft pleadings, affidavits and submissions.
• Advise on dispute resolution strategies and risk management.
• Participate in negotiations, mediations and court proceedings.
• Maintain direct communication with clients throughout the dispute resolution process.
• Develop client relationships and contribute to matter management.

An opportunity is available for a commercial litigation lawyer with 3–5 years of post-admission experience to join an established disputes practice in Brisbane.

The position offers exposure to a broad range of commercial and civil disputes, working with corporate clients, private businesses and individuals across a variety of industries.

Working alongside experienced senior practitioners, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to take an active role in managing matters, developing client relationships and building their litigation expertise within a collaborative and supportive team.

The Role

The position involves working across a varied portfolio of contentious matters, including:

• Commercial and contractual disputes involving businesses and corporate entities.
  
• Property-related litigation, including leasing and other real estate disputes.
  
• Corporate disputes, insolvency proceedings and matters arising under the Corporations Act.
  
• Debt recovery, enforcement and insolvency-related litigation.
  
• Regulatory disputes and administrative law matters.
  
• Disputes involving technology, intellectual property and commercial arrangements.
  
• Preparing pleadings, affidavits, submissions and other litigation documents.
  
• Advising clients on dispute resolution strategies, risk management and commercially appropriate outcomes.
  
• Participating in negotiations, mediations and court proceedings.
  
• Managing matters and maintaining direct communication with clients throughout the dispute resolution process.
  

The role provides the opportunity to work closely with senior lawyers while developing greater independence and responsibility across matters.

About You

To be considered for this opportunity, candidates should demonstrate:

• 3–5 years of post-admission experience in commercial litigation or dispute resolution.
  
• Experience managing or assisting with a broad range of commercial and civil disputes.
  
• Strong drafting, legal research and analytical skills.
  
• Familiarity with court procedures, litigation processes and alternative dispute resolution.
