UGL Pty Limited is seeking a Commercial Lead on a site-based role in Barrow Island. The position operates on a 15:13 roster with an ASAP start, and involves overseeing budgeting, procurement, contracts, vendor management, risk, and team leadership on a major Oil & Gas project.

You will work with a cross-functional team, ensuring compliance with safety and company standards, while reporting to senior management in Perth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration.
• Master’s degree or CIPS certification is a plus.
• Experience in oil & gas construction with SMP/E&I is preferred.

Point of hire is Perth, WA. **Key Responsibilities:** · **Cost Control & Budgeting**: Manage and oversee the project budget, ensuring that all expenditures align with the projects WBS & financial objectives. · **Procurement Strategy**: Lead and execute procurement strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services. · **Contract Negotiation**: Negotiate and administer contracts, ensuring favourable terms that align with project goals, timelines, and budget constraints. · **Vendor Management**: Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers and contractors, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications. · **Risk Management**: Analyse and mitigate commercial risks associated with the contracts financial performance, procurement, subcontracting, and supplier performance. · **Team Leadership**: Lead and mentor a team of contract and commercial professionals, fostering collaboration across departments. · **Compliance & Reporting**: Ensure compliance with corporate policies, local laws, and industry standards. Prepare regular progress reports for senior management. **About you:** · Proven experience in a contract / commercial lead role, ideally within the Oil & Gas construction sector as a main contractor performing SMP and/or E&I scope. · Strong understanding of construction project management, project controls, procurement processes, and commercial contracts. · Exceptional negotiation, leadership, and communication skills. · Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. · Familiarity with relevant software tools and systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar). · Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
