Job summary

Power Up Electrical Solutions in Brisbane is seeking commercial electrical and fire technicians with 3+ years post-trade experience. The role focuses on general light/power installs, fault finding, and maintenance of fire protection systems to AS1851/AS3000 standards.

• Minimum of 3 years post-trade electrical experience.
• Knowledge of AS 1851 and AS 3000.
• Experience with commercial service work incl. fault finding/testing.
• Experience with fire indicator panels.

Responsibilities

• General light and power installs and upgrades.
• Inspect, test & maintain fire detection and electrical fire protection systems to AS1851.
• Breakdown and reactive maintenance.
• Preventative maintenance testing and compliance audits.
• Electrical fault finding on commercial systems.
• Participate in safety, quality, and environmental initiatives.
• Direct communication with clients and site staff.
• Forecasting works incl. materials, labour and site requirements.

Responsibilities:

General light and power installs and upgrades.

Inspect, test & maintain fire detection and electrical fire protection systems to AS1851

Breakdown and reactive maintenance.

Preventative maintenance testing and compliance audits.

Electrical fault finding, with trouble shooting on equipment such as control wiring and commercial electrical systems.

Participate in safety, quality, and environmental initiatives, ensuring compliance with Power Up's ISO-certified Safety, Quality, and Environmental policies.

Communicate directly with clients and site staff.

Forecasting works including material, labour and site specific requirements.

About You

Minimum of 3 years of post-trade experience in the electrical industry.

Strong knowledge of AS 1851 & AS 3000

Experience with commercial service work including fault finding and testing.

Experience with fire indicator panels

Experience with systems such as Ampac, Pertronic or similar

Strong work ethic and commitment to safety and quality standards.

Experience working to deadlines.

Strong knowledge of Australian electrical standards and WHS regulations.

Problem solving mind set.

Ability to work on call roster

Willingness to be work night shift when required (attractively renumerated)

Must have current Australian work authorisation rights.

Qualifications

Current QLD Electrical Worker's Licence.

Open Cabling Licence with endorsements (Desired).

Current CPR/LVR certification.

Current Construction Industry White Card.

Current QLD Open C Class Driver Licence.

Dry fire endorsements (advantageous)

EWP - up to 11m

EWP up to 11m qualification is preferred but we remain flexible for suitable candidates.
