Job summary

Stewart Law in Sydney is seeking a Commercial and litigation Lawyer to join as Associate to Senior Associate, handling a broad mix of commercial litigation matters with opportunities to appear in Local to Federal Courts and to brief Counsel.

You will be involved in drafting pleadings and affidavits, managing settlements and mediation conferences, and maintaining direct client contact while expanding your experience across jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial litigation experience.
• Front end commercial experience with initiative to learn and excel.
• Involvement in drafting pleadings/affidavits and other court material; direct client contact.

We offer the opportunity to work on complex commercial litigation matters where you will have the opportunity to appear in the Local Court to Supreme and Federal Court or Tribunals yourself as well as brief Barristers and work with them directly.

The Role

We require someone with 3+ years commercial litigation and front end commercial experience and the initiative and drive to want to learn and excel from the role.The firm has a well-balanced focus across the areas of;

General commercial and large complex litigation and dispute resolution

Litigation over all jurisdictions including Local, District and Supreme Court, Federal Courts and Tribunals

Commercial and insolvency law

Debt recovery.

It is envisaged that the successful candidate will have exposure to these areas, and be comfortable with being involved in drafting pleadings/affidavits and other Court material and settlement/mediation conferences. You will have direct client contact and direct court work including briefing Counsel.

Given the nature of the work performed in the firm, you will also be exposed to other areas of law to expand your experience.
