About the Role

Commercial Division - Commercial Division is responsible for providing the commercial support required for Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) to deliver on the materiel acquisition and sustainment requirements of Government and the Australian Defence Force (ADF). Commercial Division assists Defence to manage commercial risk across the capability and procurement life cycles to help Defence meet its objectives, maximise value for money and meet legislative and mandatory requirements.

The Commercial Division provides a range of commercial services, including procurement, contracting, commercial expertise and support, commercial policy and practice, commercial professionalisation and commercial governance and assurance across both; Materiel Procurement Branch (MPB), and Non-Materiel Procurement Branch (NMPB)

Materiel Procurement Branch (MPB) - Materiel Procurement Branch (MPB) provides commercial contracting services to CASG Domains focus on delivering capability. MPB guides projects and clients and ensures that procurement and contracting activities comply with the legal, policy and legislative requirements of the Australian Government. The specialist resources within MPB are generally allocated by domain and may provide services as part of a centralised contracting team, or may be embedded within particular projects or domains Air, Land, Maritime and Joint Domains.

Non Materiel Procurement Branch (NMPB) - Non Materiel Procurement Branch (NMPB) provides procurement and commercial services across the procurement lifecycle to Defence Groups and Services, to enable procurement of non-materiel products and services to all Defence Groups and the Services for requirements that are determined as non-materiel.

Non-materiel products and services include those that: facilitate the internal operations of Defence (e.g. ICT, HR etc.); support non-materiel fundamental inputs to capability in support of the ADF (e.g. training, estate services etc.); and provide necessary corporate and domestic products and services required by Defence (e.g. Base services, Health services etc.).

While located in CASG, NMPB is outward focused and retains its role as enabling service for non-materiel procurement for all Defence Groups and Services.
