Job summary

Select People / Apprentice Recruit in Brisbane is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator for a full-time role on large-scale landscape construction projects. You will operate 1.7–8 tonne excavators, Posi-Tracks and site machinery while actively supporting the crew to deliver complex features such as sandstone retaining walls, drainage, and concrete works.

The role emphasizes hands-on collaboration, level and trenching accuracy, and readiness to work across varied commercial projects.

Qualifications

• Strong excavator operating experience across the 1.7–8 tonne range.
• Experience operating Posi-Tracks / track loaders.
• Proven ability in land clearing, trenching and site preparation.
• Confidence working with sandstone, rock and retaining walls.
• Good understanding of levels and falls.
• Experience with stormwater, drainage and irrigation installation.
• Experience using auger and jackhammer attachments.
• Concrete preparation experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate 1.7, 4 and 8-tonne excavators and related machinery.
• Run Posi-Tracks / track loaders as required on site.
• Operate swivel tippers and other site machinery.
• Drive MR/HR trucks when licensed.
• Land clearing and general site preparation.
• Trench and level/calculate falls to spec.
• Stormwater trenching and installation.
• Water/irrigation trenching and installation.
• Use auger and jackhammer attachments.
• Prepare sandstone/rock retaining walls and concrete areas.
• Assist crew when machinery not required.
• Support the landscape construction crew to keep projects moving.
