Job summary

Macquarie University Health invites applications for a General Surgical Fellow to support colorectal and upper GI surgery services at the Macquarie University Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde.

The role offers part-time (0.7FTE) appointment for 12 months with opportunities to participate in education, research and clinical trials, under senior consultant mentorship in a private hospital setting.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent qualification and general registration as a medical practitioner in Australia.
• FRACS in general surgery (or equivalent) preferred however not mandatory.
• Active (or eligible to be an active) Accredited Practitioner of Macquarie University Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical service within the scope of practice as granted by MUH/ MQ Health.
• Participate in rotation duties and healthcare delivery for inpatient and outpatient care.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff and medical students.
• Contribute to education, research activities and clinical trials.
• Participate in quality assurance, risk management and multidisciplinary meetings.
