Job summary

Glasshouse Christian College in Beerwah, QLD, is seeking a compassionate College Counsellor P–12. This part-time, continuing role is 1–2 days per week during term time, offering the chance to support student wellbeing across Prep to Year 12.

The successful candidate will provide short-term counselling, collaborate with staff and families, and uphold professional standards with regard to child protection and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Hold appropriate professional registration, accreditation or membership where applicable.
• Experience providing counselling or wellbeing support to children and/or adolescents.
• Be able to work effectively with students across Prep to Year 12.
• Demonstrate knowledge of child and adolescent mental health and wellbeing.
• Experience in risk assessment and child protection.

About the Role

Glasshouse Christian College is seeking a compassionate and experienced College Counsellor P–12 to join our Pastoral team.

This part-time, continuing position is one – two days per week during term time and provides an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the wellbeing of students from Prep to Year 12.

The College Counsellor will provide professional, short-term counselling and wellbeing support to students, working collaboratively with College staff, families and external professionals where appropriate.

About You

The successful applicant will:

• Be a committed Christian who actively supports the Christian ethos, mission and values of Glasshouse Christian College.
• Hold an appropriate tertiary qualification in counselling, psychology, social work or a related discipline.
• Hold appropriate professional registration, accreditation or membership where applicable.
• Have experience providing counselling or wellbeing support to children and/or adolescents.
• Be able to work effectively with students across the Prep to Year 12 age range.
• Demonstrate knowledge of child and adolescent mental health and wellbeing.
• Have experience in risk assessment, child protection and responding to significant student wellbeing concerns.
• Demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Work collaboratively with students, families, College staff and external professionals.
• Hold a current Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
