Job summary

The Town of Cottesloe is seeking an experienced Senior Urban Planner to provide statutory and strategic planning advice, assess complex planning proposals and deliver high-quality outcomes in line with legislation and council policies. You will work with a small team, applying professional judgement to achieve results across development applications, policy, and engagement.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply legislation, policies and planning principles to achieve sound planning outcomes.
• Demonstrated experience in the assessment of complex development applications.
• Ability to prepare high-quality reports, recommendations and correspondence for management, Council, DAPS and SDAU.

Responsibilities

• Provide statutory and strategic planning advice to deliver timely, customer-focused outcomes.
• Assess complex planning proposals and contribute to planning policy and procedure improvements.
• Engage with stakeholders and work with a small team to share knowledge and achieve desired outcomes.
