Job summary

Protech is actively seeking an experienced Painter/Blaster for ongoing full‑time work at Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal, Mackay region. You will contribute to protective coating and structural maintenance, with a focus on safe, quality workmanship.

The role offers a coastal site, strong site support, potential shutdown duties, and a lifestyle roster. Local candidates based in Mackay/Sarina are preferred; Australian working rights are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial painting and blasting (Trade qualification desirable).
• Spray painting experience with upskilling opportunities for the right candidate.
• 2+ years abrasive blasting and painting experience (highly regarded).
• Familiar with epoxy coatings application including airless spray pump and conventional spray experience.
• Ports or Mining Experience (desirable).
• Shutdown experience (highly regarded).
• White Card (Construction Induction).
• Working at Heights ticket or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to obtain an MSIC.
• Current driver’s licence.
• Full Australian working rights.
• Confined Space and Gas Test Atmospheres tickets (desirable).
• Mackay local or Sarina residents (no accommodation provided).

• Setting up work areas to safely execute tasks.
• Steel fabrication and coating to site specifications.
• Delivering quality work while maintaining safety and compliance standards.
