Job summary

ALS Coal in Mayfield (NSW) is seeking a Casual PTL Technician to join our site. The role involves day, afternoon, and night shifts on a rotating roster, with overtime available during busy periods. You will handle coal samples, perform tests, record results, and help maintain equipment in a strong safety-focused team.

A valid driver's license and working rights in Australia are required. Full training will be provided, and you should be comfortable with manual handling and meeting deadlines

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license.
• Current rights to work in Australia.
• Strong focus on safety, quality and teamwork.
• Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
• Ability to organise work, multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to work independently without supervision.
• Comfortable with safe manual handling duties, including repetitive lifting.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new systems.
• Previous coal sampling experience would be an advantage but not essential.
• Flexibility to perform shift work and weekend work as required.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out work safely and efficiently.
• Handling coal samples and processing them per instructions.
• Loading and unloading coal samples from plant streams.
• Performing tests including sample prep, sizing, crushing, dividing and storage.
• Transferring validated results into the reporting system.
• Calibrating and maintaining specialised equipment.
