ExpoCentric Pty Ltd in Sydney seeks a dedicated CNC Wood Machinist for full-time production work. The role involves precise CNC cutting, shaping timber and composites, and reading drawings to spec components.

You will maintain quality, perform routine machine maintenance, and support finishing and assembly while adhering to WHS rules. This position offers a collaborative team culture in a modern Rydalmere workshop.

Formación

• 1 year of CNC operation experience in timber fabrication.
• Ability to read technical drawings and G-code.
• Knowledge of timber materials (MDF, plywood, composites).
• Certificate in CNC machining or wood tech preferred.
• Physically capable of handling large sheets.
• Valid driver’s licence; forklift or WhiteCard advantageous.

Responsabilidades

• Operate CNC machinery to cut, drill, and shape timber and wood-based materials.
• Interpret drawings and G-code to produce components to exact specs.
• Inspect and maintain quality of timber components before dispatch.
• Perform routine CNC maintenance, tool changes, calibration, cleaning.
• Collaborate with production to meet timelines and coordinate materials.
• Assist with finishing tasks such as sanding and edging.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace following WHS procedures.

ExpoCentric Pty Ltd is an industry leader in the design and fabrication of premium exhibition stands, custom displays, and fit-out solutions. Based in Rydalmere, Sydney, our in-house production facility combines advanced technology with craftsmanship to deliver outstanding results for national and international clients.

We are seeking a full-time CNC Wood Machinist to join our production team. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who takes pride in precision work, enjoys working with timber and composite materials, and thrives in a fast-paced, quality-driven fabrication environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operate CNC machinery to cut, drill, and shape timber and wood-based materials such as MDF, plywood, and composite boards with a high level of accuracy.
2. Interpret technical drawings and G-codes to produce exhibition and display components to exact dimensions and tolerances.
3. Inspect and maintain quality of all timber and wood-based components, ensuring they meet design and fit-out standards before assembly or dispatch.
4. Perform routine CNC maintenance, including tool changes, calibration, and cleaning to maintain optimum machine performance.
5. Collaborate with the production team to meet project timelines, coordinate materials, and ensure a smooth assembly process.
6. Assist with finishing tasks such as sanding, edging, and preparation for installation.
7. Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant workspace, adhering to WHS procedures at all times.

Qualifications and Experience

1. At least 1 year of experience operating CNC machinery within a timber fabrication, joinery, or exhibition manufacturing environment.
2. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and programming code (G-code).
3. Strong understanding of timber and wood-based material properties, including MDF, plywood, and composite boards.
4. Relevant Certificate (e.g., in CNC machining, Cabinet Making, or Wood Technology) desired.
5. Physically fit and capable of safely handling large sheet materials.
6. Valid driver’s licence required; Forklift licence or WhiteCard certification advantageous.
