Job summary

Apex Design & Engineering, based in Coomera on the Gold Coast, is seeking an experienced CNC machinist to join our family-owned workshop. The role covers machining of one-offs, prototypes and production runs across aluminium, steel, plastics, and brass.

You will set up and operate CNC lathes and machining centres, program and optimise CNC jobs, and read engineering drawings. Mazak Integrex and multi-tasking machines are highly regarded assets for this role.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a CNC machinist.
• Strong CNC turning and/or milling experience.
• Ability to set up and run jobs independently.
• Good understanding of tooling, feeds, speeds and machining processes.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and use measuring equipment.
• Reliable, punctual and takes pride in producing quality work.
• Mazatrol experience is highly preferred, but not essential.
• Experience with Mazak Integrex, Quick Turn, VCN or multi-tasking machines would be highly regarded.

We're a family-owned CNC machining and engineering business with a well-equipped workshop and a wide variety of work — from one-off components and prototypes through to production runs. Defence through to Automotive.
