Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of hands-on CNC experience in metal fabrication.

• Experience with SolidWorks or AutoCAD.

• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Load and calibrate CNC flat bed machine per cutting list.
• Operate CNC machine with minimal supervision.
• Ensure safety systems are operational before machining.
• Verify machine settings and detect malfunctions.
• Edit CNC programs to optimize material usage.
• Handle loading/unloading of steel plates.
• Interpret engineered drawings and verify dimensions.
• Record processed sizes within tolerances.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing issues.
• Perform quality control checks.

We are seeking an experienced and reliable CNC Operator to join our growing team at MPE Custom Switchboards in the switchboard manufacturing industry. Key responsibilities

• Load the CNC Flat Bed Machine and ensure that it is correctly calibrated and cutting as per the cutting list
• Effectively and efficiently operate the CNC machine in accordance to the daily worklist with minimal supervision and ensuring a level of competence
• Confirm that all machine safety systems are fully operational before machining
• Verify the accuracy of machine settings to detect malfunctions and inaccuracy
• Edit CNC programs where required to ensure efficient use of machines
• Loading, unloading, and monitoring steel plates
• Interpreting and understanding engineered drawings
• Measuring and recording processed sizes within required tolerances
• Troubleshooting of manufacturing problems
• Complete quality control checks

About you

• Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience running CNC machinery within a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment
• Proven ability to read, interpret, and unpack complex sheet metal drawings or flat patterns
• Exposure to software like SolidWorks, AutoCAD
• Strong understanding of sheet-metal processing and fabrication
• Good measuring and quality-control skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a wider production team
• A strong commitment to safety and quality
• Reliable attendance and a positive attitude
• CNC Machine certification, Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade (Sheetmetal), White Card
