Job summary

Medibank Private Limited is seeking a Cloud Engineer – AI & Data to design, deploy, automate and support cloud environments across AWS and Azure, enabling data products and AI solutions at scale.

You will collaborate with Data, AI and Technology teams to implement IaC using Terraform/CloudFormation/Ansible, safeguard security, and drive cost-efficient cloud operations while adhering to Medibank governance standards.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years' experience as a Cloud Engineer with strong AWS experience.
• Proven experience designing and deploying cloud environments using Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience supporting data, analytics and AI/ML workloads in AWS.
• Familiarity with AWS AI services including Bedrock, SageMaker, Amazon Q, Comprehend, Textract and Kendra.
• Experience with Python and Linux shell scripting.
• Experience using Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitHub.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain cloud environments across AWS and Azure.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible or similar tools.
• Automate cloud provisioning, deployment and operational processes.
• Continuously evaluate and implement emerging cloud capabilities and managed services.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver scalable cloud solutions.
• Build and operate cloud platforms that support data, analytics and AI/ML workloads.
• Design and support AWS-based AI solutions using Bedrock, SageMaker, Q, Comprehend, Textract and Kendra.
• Support governance, classification and lifecycle management of AI solutions across development, test and production environments.
• Assist in the secure, responsible and cost-effective adoption of AI technologies.
• Partner with Data and AI teams to enable innovative use cases while ensuring operational excellence.
• Apply cloud security best practices and the Principle of Least Privilege.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, privacy and security requirements.
• Enforce Medibank's cloud governance standards and operational controls.
• Support monitoring, auditing and remediation activities across cloud environments.
• Monitor and support cloud infrastructure to maintain availability and performance.
• Manage change, release, incident and problem management processes.
• Maintain operational documentation, standards and runbooks.
• Act as a key contributor to cloud reliability, resilience and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Build strong relationships with technical and business stakeholders.
• Gather, analyse and document requirements for cloud initiatives.
• Contribute to project planning, estimation and delivery activities.
• Facilitate workshops and collaborate across cross-functional teams to deliver outcomes.
