Job summary

King Living is seeking a senior Cloud Engineer to own and secure our Azure platform across global operations. You will design scalable infrastructure, drive end-to-end cloud projects, and embed security into every phase of the lifecycle while balancing cost and performance.

You will collaborate with business units, manage cloud vendors, and communicate strategy to senior leadership in clear, actionable terms. Strong Azure expertise and 5+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing, deploying and maintaining secure cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure.
• Deep understanding of cloud security — threat detection, vulnerability management and security best practice for cloud environments.
• Proven ability to lead and deliver cloud projects on time and on budget, with security integrated at every phase.
• Experience managing vendor relationships, contracts and SLAs.
• Strong communication skills — able to translate technical strategy for senior leadership.

The Cloud Engineer owns the Azure platform that global operation runs on. You will design and build secure cloud infrastructure, lead cloud projects end to end, keep the environment available, scalable and cost-efficient, and embed security into every phase of the cloud lifecycle rather than bolting it on afterwards. You will also work directly with business units on what they need, manage our cloud vendors, and explain your strategy to senior leadership in language they can act on.

It is a genuinely broad remit with real decision rights. Architecture and design choices, security policy and incident response approach, vendor and contract decisions within budget, and which technologies we adopt next are all yours to make.

What You Will Own

Cloud Strategy & Design

Design and implement secure cloud infrastructure and strategy that lines up with where the business is heading, not just where it is today.

Project Delivery

Lead cloud projects from inception to completion — design, implementation and deployment — delivered on time and on budget.

Environment Management

Manage and maintain our Microsoft Azure environment, optimising resource, performance and cost while keeping availability, scalability and resilience high.

Security Policy & Operations

Develop and enforce cloud security policy, then back it up operationally — monitoring incidents, responding quickly, running root cause analysis and closing the gaps that let it happen.

Vendor & Technology

Manage cloud services and vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, hold suppliers to their SLAs, and evaluate the technologies worth bringing in.

Compliance & Assurance

Keep us compliant with industry standards and regulation across data privacy and cybersecurity, and run regular cloud security assessments and audits.

Stakeholder Communication

Work with business units to understand what they actually need from the cloud, and communicate infrastructure and security strategy clearly to senior leadership.

Who You Are

An experienced cloud engineer who builds securely by default — as comfortable in an architecture decision as in an incident, and able to explain both to people who are not engineers.

• 5+ years designing, deploying and maintaining secure cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure
• Deep understanding of cloud security — threat detection, vulnerability management and security best practice for cloud environments
• Proven ability to lead and deliver cloud projects on time and on budget, with security integrated at every phase
• Expertise identifying and mitigating cloud security risk, and ensuring compliance with industry standards
• Experience managing vendor relationships, contracts and SLAs
• Strong communication skills — able to take a technical strategy to senior leadership and have it understood
