Credit Union SA is seeking a Cloud Engineer to design, operate and secure its Microsoft hybrid cloud and core infrastructure on a 2-year fixed-term contract. You will own Azure, Intune, Entra ID and end-user platforms to support BAU and automation.

The role requires senior hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, VMware virtualization, and identity management, plus the ability to work across IT and business stakeholders.

Qualificações

• Five years+ in IT with strong hands-on Microsoft hybrid cloud experience.
• Proven experience with Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Windows Server and AD.
• Experience supporting VMware virtualization and end-user computing environments.

They are seeking a Cloud Engineer on 2 year fixed-term contract to support their Microsoft hybrid cloud and core infrastructure.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Cloud Engineer is responsible for the design, operation, security and optimisation of Credit Union SA’s Microsoft hybrid cloud, core infrastructure and end-user platforms. Reporting to the IT Service Enablement Manager, you will provide senior technical capability across Azure, Microsoft 365, identity and endpoint management, supporting BAU while delivering automation and operational resilience.
Key responsibilities include:

• Design, administer and optimise Microsoft Azure services across compute, networking, identity and security.
• Manage Microsoft 365 platforms, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams and OneDrive.
• Maintain Microsoft Entra ID, Intune and secure hybrid identity and access management, along with secure integration between on-premises and cloud platforms.
• Implement security hardening and partner with Cyber Security teams on vulnerability remediation, audit activities and secure configuration baselines.
• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 escalation support across cloud, infrastructure and end-user platforms.
• Support Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS and core on-premises infrastructure, and provide senior technical support for VMware virtualisation.
• Support backup, disaster recovery and business continuity controls.
• Support endpoint lifecycle refresh, standard operating environment builds, deployment and patching.
• Develop automation and operational improvements, including infrastructure-as-code and scripting where applicable.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, standards and runbooks, and work with third-party vendors to resolve issues and deliver services.
• Participate in the on-call roster and undertake out-of-hours work as required.

ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• More than five years’ experience in the IT industry, with strong hands on experience managing Microsoft hybrid cloud environments.
• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Windows Server and Active Directory.
• Proven experience supporting VMware virtualisation platforms, along with a strong background in end-user computing, desktop environments and endpoints.
• Solid understanding of DNS, directory services and enterprise identity architecture.
• Proven ability to operate autonomously in a BAU-intensive environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across business and IT stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on quality, reliability and business alignment.
• Microsoft and/or Azure certifications.
