Job summary

Talent is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to join a global health service provider, focusing on a cloud-based analytics platform. The role requires hands-on software development, strong AWS Cloud knowledge, and DevOps practices to design, develop and improve scalable, secure cloud-native applications in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on software engineering experience with React, TypeScript and NestJS.
• Solid experience with AWS cloud services.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs, microservices and cloud-native apps.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, ideally Azure DevOps or similar.
• Hands-on IaC with Terraform, AWS CDK or CloudFormation.
• Experience with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, AWS ECS).
• Knowledge of monitoring/observability tools like Grafana and CloudWatch.
• Understanding of IAM, VPC and secrets management.
• Scripting/automation with Python or Bash.
• Experience in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable cloud-native applications and microservices.
• Develop and enhance RESTful APIs, event-driven services and application frameworks.
• Build, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline development, testing and deployment processes.
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, AWS CDK or CloudFormation.
• Design and implement secure, reliable and cost-effective cloud solutions in AWS.
• Work with containerisation technologies such as Docker and AWS ECS.
• Implement monitoring, logging and observability to optimise performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with software engineers, data engineers, solution architects and stakeholders.
• Integrate automated testing, security scanning and compliance checks into development workflows.
• Drive continuous improvement across development, automation and cloud engineering.
