We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Cloud DevOps Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in the ongoing cloud transformation journey. This role will be instrumental in managing our existing legacy virtual machine environments while helping to evolve our cloud footprint through automation and modern DevOps practices.

You will work across both brownfield (legacy) and greenfield (new cloud) environments, collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Success in this role will depend as much on strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills as it will on your technical capability. We are looking for someone who can lead transformation, bring people on the journey, and demonstrate initiative and adaptability in a complex environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support legacy cloud and on-prem virtual machine environments (VMware).
  • Lead and support the migration of legacy systems to AWS and other cloud platforms.
  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
  • Develop infrastructure as code (IaC) using Ansible, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
  • Automate configuration and system management with Python and shell scripting.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize performance across cloud and legacy platforms.
  • Implement and maintain cloud security and compliance practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive adoption of modern DevOps practices.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience supporting brownfield/legacy virtual machine environments, ideally VMware.
  • Solid hands-on experience with AWS as a minimum; exposure to Azure and/or Oracle OCI is highly desirable.
  • Strong skills in DevOps and automation using Ansible, Python, and scripting (Bash/shell).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions.
  • Familiarity with Vault and secrets management solutions.
  • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders—both technical and non-technical—during times of change.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive transformation, work independently, and integrate into existing teams.
  • Sound understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking, and system administration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Terraform, Helm, or CloudFormation.
  • Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Exposure to serverless and cloud-native architectures.
  • Relevant certifications in AWS, Azure, or OCI.

WHAT WE OFFER?

  • Career Development: Access to professional growth opportunities, including training and certifications to advance your career.
  • Health and Wellness: Comprehensive health and wellness benefits.
  • Innovative Environment: Work in a dynamic organization that values innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Flexible Working: Benefit from flexible working hours and the option to work from home (role dependant).
  • Holidays: 12 weeks paid parental leave (increasing to 20 weeks for 5+ years service), as well as Flexible Public Holidays, and ability to buy up to 2 weeks additional annual leave each year.
