Job summary

Queensland Government is seeking a Cloud DevOps Engineer for Brisbane contract until 31 December 2026. You’ll help build cloud foundations, enable AI-enabled services, and collaborate with engineering, architecture and security teams to implement IaC, CI/CD and cloud best practices.

The role offers exposure to a modern AWS-focused stack, with a long-term transformation program and opportunities to shape cloud engineering across a large enterprise.

Qualifications

• Strong AWS cloud engineering experience.
• Terraform and Infrastructure as Code expertise.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines and automation tooling.
• GitHub, GitOps and DevSecOps experience.
• Python and/or Bash scripting skills.
• Strong understanding of networking, security and cloud operations.
• Desirable: AWS and/or Terraform certifications.
• Kafka, Azure or data platform experience.
• Exposure to AI/ML, analytics or modern platform technologies.

Previous Queensland Government or broader State Government experience will be highly regarded.
