Job summary

OpenTalent is seeking a Database Administrator (Cloud Projects) to lead migration of Oracle databases from on premises to AWS Cloud. The role requires collaborating with application teams and other DBAs, applying best practices and documenting solutions, within an infrastructure-focused environment in Canberra.

The position involves ongoing Cloud database support, participation in agile projects, and developing medium-to-long term hosting plans with the infra team.

Qualifications

• Plan and execute data migration of Oracle databases from on prem to AWS Cloud (SaaS, PaaS and IaaS).
• Experience with cloud hosted databases and AWS platform.
• Ability to work with infrastructure teams and application project teams.
• Knowledge of agile methodologies and documentation best practices.
• Desire to address selection criteria as part of application submission.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute migration of Oracle databases from on prem to AWS Cloud (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS).
• Provide advice on best practices and document solutions.
• Collaborate with DBAs to execute migrations using agile methods.
• Work with application teams to advise on Cloud hosted databases and resolve issues.
• Participate in infra planning for database hosting and support.
• Provide ongoing support and administration for Cloud hosted databases.
