Epicor is seeking a Database Administrator to help maintain SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments with a focus on availability, security, and performance. You will work with experienced teams across database, cloud, DevOps, and applications to ensure reliable, scalable systems.

This role suits someone building their DBA career, with a strong technical foundation, a willingness to learn, and interest in cloud platforms, automation, migrations, and database reliability.

Qualifications

• Proficient with SQL Server and PostgreSQL administration.
• Strong understanding of relational databases, indexing, backups and recovery.
• Familiarity with high availability and disaster recovery concepts.
• Experience with Windows or Linux operating systems.
• Knowledge of Azure or another public cloud platform.
• Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
• Understanding of database security and access management.
• Analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments.
• Assist with installations, configuration, upgrades, patching and maintenance.
• Participate in migrations from on-premises to cloud and SQL Server to PostgreSQL.
• Manage backup, recovery, replication, clustering and DR processes.
• Troubleshoot performance, connectivity, capacity and availability issues.
• Support database security, access controls and governance.
• Contribute to automation using Ansible and GitHub Actions.
• Collaborate with development, cloud and DevOps teams on DB requirements.
• Maintain documentation and database standards.
• Learn and evaluate new database and cloud technologies.
