Job summary

Paxus is seeking a Cloud & DevOps Engineer for a 3-month contract with potential extension. The role combines a hybrid Melbourne setup with occasional travel to Canberra and Adelaide as needed.

You will design and manage AWS infrastructure, build CI/CD pipelines, and maintain monitoring with ELK. The stack includes Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift, Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, and scripting in Bash/Python. NV1 clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Active NV1 clearance is required.
• Minimum 5 years in Cloud & DevOps roles with strong hands-on AWS experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, or related field; AWS certs are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage scalable AWS infrastructure.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, and Packer.
• Monitor and maintain Elastic Stack (ELK) for performance and reliability.

• Provide PHP environment support and maintain infrastructure documentation.

About the Role

We are seeking a Cloud & DevOps Engineer for a 3-month contract (with potential extension).

• Melbourne Candidates:Hybrid model (3 days/week on-site).

• Other Locations:Remote work allowed, with occasional visits to a local office as required.

• On-Call:Roster-based rotation (approximately once every 4 to 5 weeks).

Key Responsibilities

• Cloud Infrastructure Management:Design, implement, and manage scalable, reliable, and secure AWS infrastructure (EC2, RDS, ElastiCache, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, S3).

• DevOps & Automation:Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, and Packer to automate releases and infrastructure provisioning.

• Monitoring & Maintenance:Implement and maintain Elastic Stack (ELK) monitoring solutions to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.

• Containerization:Deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and/or OpenShift.

• Scripting & Linux Admin:Perform Linux (RHEL) server-side administration and write automation scripts using Bash or Python.

• Application Support:Work with PHP-based application environments.

• Security & Compliance:Enforce IAM, network security, data protection, and compliance best practices across cloud environments.

• Support & Documentation:Provide advanced troubleshooting for production issues and maintain detailed infrastructure documentation.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

• Clearance:Must hold an Active NV1 Clearance.

• Experience:Junior to Intermediate level (Minimum 5 years in Cloud & DevOps roles, with strong hands-on AWS experience).

  • DevOps/IaC:Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Packer

• Education & Certifications:Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, or a related field. AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer) are a plus.
