Job summary

Newcastle Private Hospital in NSW is seeking a highly organised Clinical Trial Coordinator to join our oncology-focused CTU on a part-time basis. The role covers day-to-day trial management, participant coordination and adherence to GCP and trial protocols within the hospital setting.

You will screen and recruit participants, schedule visits, manage trial treatments and ensure accurate data capture across multiple trials, collaborating with investigators and a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating clinical trials and ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Familiarity with ICH-GCP and the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Research Involving Humans.
• Experience in oncology/haematology settings is desirable.
• Experience with tissue/blood sample handling and processing.

We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Clinical Trial Coordinator to join our team at Newcastle Private Hospital on a part time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and supporting the delivery of clinical trials, within the hospital, predominately in the oncology setting.

The Clinical Trial Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day management of clinical trial activities and participant coordination, ensuring compliance with study protocols, regulatory requirements, and best practice standards.

As a Clinical Trial Coordinator your responsibilities will include:

Assisting in the implementation of clinical trials at NPH CTU, ensuring adherence to clinical trial protocols and compliance with all regulatory, state, national and internationally accepted guidelines for Good Clinical Practice in research (ICH GCP).

Coordinating patient screening and recruitment activities, including the eligibility review and informed consent process.

Managing the running of a clinical trial, including the care of trial participants, the scheduling of participant study visits, procedures and evaluations in a safe, effective and timely manner.

Coordinating in conjunction with the Investigator, the administration of trial treatment(s) in accordance with trial protocols.

Complete all required data management activities for a given trial(s).

List A Nurse currently registered in NSW OR Bachelor’s degree in relevant health sciences or related discipline with significant practical and professional experience.

Excellent communication, teamwork skills, with demonstrated ability to collaborate in small teams and with a wide range of varying stakeholders.

• Computer literate with database experience. Excel proficiency would be a bonus.
• Experience in oncology / haematology
• Knowledge of relevant codes and legislation related to human research, including the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Research Involving Humans and the Principles of Good Clinical Research Practice (ICH GCP).
• Previous experience working with tissue/blood sample collections, processing and storage.
