Job summary

Far West Local Health District in Broken Hill NSW seeks a Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 for a temporary full-time role (until 30 June 2027). The position offers 38 hours per week, with remuneration of $64.71–$66.84 per hour plus superannuation.

You will work with families to optimise child health, development and wellbeing, delivering a structured home visiting program over an extended period and supporting families to transition to parenthood, while engaging in ongoing professional

Qualifications

• Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with postgraduate qualifications in the speciality of Child and Family Health with a minimum of 3yrs experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work closely with families using evidence-based models of care and approaches that are supportive and inclusive with an early intervention focus.
• Demonstrated ability and experience in planning, coordinating care and evaluating within case management.

Responsibilities

• Working with parents to support optimising their child's health, development and wellbeing, their maternal health and wellbeing and their parental and family functioning through assessing and providing a structured home visiting program over an extended period, to assist families to transition to parenthood, building on strengths and ameliorate identified risks and vulnerabilities.
• The role involves comprehensive family-centred care in a rural setting, with opportunities for professional development and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to risk management, quality improvement and ongoing learning to support Better Health outcomes in Broken Hill and surrounding communities.

• Demonstrated ability to work closely with families utilising evidence-based models of care and approaches that are supportive and inclusive with an early intervention focus.
• Demonstrated ability and experience in planning, coordinating care and evaluating within case management.
• Current immunisation accreditation or commitment to obtain within 12 months of commencement.
• Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills, and willingness to apply and share professional expertise with colleagues.
• Demonstrated intermediate computer skills, effective interpersonal skills within a multidisciplinary team and a capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise.
• Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.
• Current unrestricted NSW driver's license and willingness to travel.
