Job summary

St John of God Subiaco Hospital seeks an experienced Clinical Nurse - Quality & Risk to promote best practice in governance, risk, quality improvement and accreditation. You will guide managers and clinicians, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with standards to enhance patient care.

Job description

St John of God Subiaco Hospital with more than 1,200 of WA’s most experienced and respected medical specialists, 2,200 caregivers and 600 beds, our hospital plays a vital role in delivering private health care across the state.

About the role

As an experienced Clinical Nurse - Quality & Risk , you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care by promoting best practice in clinical governance, risk management, quality improvement, and accreditation activities across the hospital. Acting as a trusted resource for managers and clinicians, you will provide expert guidance, facilitate continuous improvement initiatives, and support compliance with relevant standards and regulatory requirements.

This influential role will see you work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to drive a culture of safety, quality, and accountability. You will be instrumental in the coordination and analysis of clinical incidents, consumer feedback, audits, risk assessments, and quality improvement activities, ensuring lessons learned are translated into meaningful outcomes that enhance patient care and organisational performance.

This is a Permanent Part-Time opportunity working up to 45.6 hours per fortnight , offering flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful quality and risk initiatives while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Your skills and experience

The successful applicant will hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and bring substantial clinical experience, advanced specialty knowledge, and demonstrated leadership capability. You will have a sound understanding of clinical governance, quality improvement methodologies, and continuous improvement practices, with a commitment to supporting safe, effective, and high-quality patient care.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to build strong working relationships and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams. Experience in a Clinical Nurse, Clinical Midwife, or equivalent leadership role will be highly regarded, as will the ability to influence positive change and contribute to organisational quality and patient safety initiatives.

• Salary: $109,599 to $115,682 (pro rata for part-time), plus 12% superannuation
• Permanent Part-Time opportunity working up to 45.6 hours per fortnight
