Applies advanced nursing/midwifery knowledge, skills, attributes and abilities within a specified area of clinical practice in therapeutic and professional relationships with individuals, as well as with families, groups and communities.
This role is a 12 month Transition to Remote Practice Program based in a remote NT community, providing comprehensive primary health care to communities. Educational support and training will be provided. For this role you must have; minimum of 3 years broad based nursing experience, the ability to problem solve and self-manage within the team and interact effectively with people of diverse cultures; participate in after hours on call emergency care; a sound understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health outcomes; proficiency with operating a manual vehicle; a willingness to travel by air and 4WD; the capacity to reside in a remote community. Successful applicants will need to be available to commence March 2-2026
Ongoing appointment is subject to possession of Graduate Certificate beyond entry-to-practice in relevant specialty area. The preferred or recommended applicant will be required to hold a current working with children clearance notice and undergo a criminal history check. A criminal history will not exclude an applicant from this position unless it is relevant to the position. This role carries specific immunisation requirements. To be eligible for appointment you will be required to meet the immunisation requirements associated with Category A healthcare workers (direct contact with blood or body substances).
