Job summary

Maryborough District Health Service in Maryborough, VIC, is seeking a Fixed Term, part-time Clinical Educator to support the development of nursing students, graduates and staff. The ideal candidate will have AHPRA registration, at least five years of post-graduate nursing experience, and demonstrated clinical supervision or preceptor experience, plus a Certificate

Qualifications

• Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Minimum of five (5) years' post-graduate nursing experience.
• Demonstrated experience in a clinical supervision or preceptor role.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent qualification (highly desirable), or willingness to obtain the same.
• Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Act as an educational resource for students, graduates, and staff.
• Assist with orientation of new students, graduates and staff to clinical areas.
• Provide clinical assistance and support in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care.
• Lead innovative clinical learning activities and review/equip evidence-based best practice to improve care quality and safety.
• Participate in clinical audits and other quality activities to evaluate current practice.
• Maintain expertise with health care research, trends, and nursing practice.
• Foster an active learning environment and maintain mandatory competency requirements.
• Oversee and document staff, graduate and student progress; develop learning plans for sub-optimal performance if required.
• Liaise with education providers to address unsatisfactory behaviour or performance of students.
• Review and complete formative and summative assessments and associated documentation.
