Northern Sydney Local Health District is seeking a Clinical Nurse Educator to lead structured learning and professional development for nursing staff within the Virtual Care Service at the RNSH Campus, Douglas Building.

This permanent position supports education delivery, orientation, competency assessment, and evidence-based practice across virtual, clinic and outreach settings, with up to 38 hours per week on site.

Qualifications

  • AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse and post-registration education/clinical qualifications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Knowledge of policies and clinical practice guidelines.
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement.
  • Current NSW Driver's Licence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coordinate and implement structured learning and professional development programs for nursing staff within the Virtual Care Service.
  • Provide clinical education, orientation, competency assessment and skills accreditation.
  • Promote evidence-based practice and contribute to safe, high-quality patient-centred care.

What You'll Be Doing

The Clinical Nurse Educator will work in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager to lead, coordinate, develop and implement structured learning and professional development programs for nursing staff within the Virtual Care Service (VCS).


The Clinical Nurse Educator will provide clinical education, orientation, competency assessment, skills accreditation and professional development support for nursing staff delivering virtual, clinic-based and outreach nursing care. They will promote evidence-based practice, support the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care, and contribute to continuous improvement across the service.


The Clinical Nurse Educator will contribute to the delivery of NSLHD Nursing Orientation, mandatory education and service-specific training. They will also develop and facilitate education programs relevant to virtual models of nursing care and may teach in nursing courses within NSLHD and at external organisations, including travel to other sites within the LHD as required.

Candidates Will Need To Meet The Following Criteria

  • Holds AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse AND holds relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate by the employer.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to practice safe nursing care and knowledge of policies and clinical practice guidelines.
  • Demonstrated commitment to evidence based practice, continuous quality improvement and risk management.
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence.
