Job summary

The Wesley Hospital Breast Clinic in Brisbane is seeking a Clinical Nurse – Breast Care to provide safe, evidence-based care within a multidisciplinary team.

You will coordinate screening, imaging and diagnostic services, perform breast examinations and support patients through their treatment journey. The role offers flexibility to cover clinic operations and is ideal for an experienced breast care nurse seeking a meaningful not-for-profit role.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum 12 months post-graduate experience in Breast Care Nursing.
• Post Graduate Certificate in Breast Cancer Nursing, or currently working towards completion.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating Breast Screening and MRI clinics.
• Clinical coordination within diagnostic clinics.
• Breast Examinations

• Liaising with Breast Physicians, Breast Surgeons and Breast Radiologists.
• Assisting with procedures including Hookwire and SaviScout Localisations and Vacuum Assisted Biopsies.
• Management and support of Contrast Enhanced Mammography patients.
• Conducting breast cancer risk assessments.
• Supporting newly diagnosed and high-risk patients.
• Providing patient education and resources.
• Supporting and mentoring Enrolled Nursing staff.
• Attending and contributing to Breast MDT meetings.

Employment Type: Part Time opportunity available - Four days per fortnight.

Location: Auchenflower, just 5 minutes from Toowong Village and 10 minutes from Brisbane CBD

Remuneration: $55.63 - $59.61 per hour + Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging + Penalties & Allowances

Your part in The Wesley Breast Clinic team

You will be accountable for the provision of safe, evidence-based and holistic care to patients and their families, ensuring exceptional clinical outcomes and an outstanding patient experience.

Working collaboratively with Breast Physicians, Breast Surgeons, Breast Radiologists and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialist breast care nursing support across a range of diagnostic and treatment services.

Key responsibilities include:

• Clinical coordination within diagnostic clinics.
• Breast Examinations
• Patient care coordination and support throughout their treatment journey.
• Liaising with Breast Physicians, Breast Surgeons and Breast Radiologists.

This role is primarily rostered between 7:00am and 6:30pm, Monday to Friday, however flexibility may be required to support clinic operations and leave coverage.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum 12 months post graduate experience in Breast Care Nursing.
• Post Graduate Certificate in Breast Cancer Nursing, or currently working towards completion.
• IV cannulation experience (highly desirable).
• Experience assisting patients undergoing contrast-based imaging procedures (highly desirable).
• Previous breast screening experience (highly regarded).
• Experience performing clinical breast examinations (desirable).
• Flexibility to assist with annual leave and sick leave coverage.
• Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Proven patient‑centred focus on safety, quality and compassionate care.
• Excellent communication, teamwork and customer service skills.
• Australian working rights (sponsorship is not available for this position).
• Willingness to obtain required vaccinations in line with hospitals infection control requirements
