Job summary

South Western Sydney Local Health District is seeking an experienced maternity clinician to lead and deliver education programs focused on best practice in maternity care. You will mentor staff, apply adult learning principles, and collaborate with Nursing Educators to align initiatives with strategic goals.

The role emphasises educational excellence, professional growth, and a commitment to safe, evidence-based maternity services for mothers and babies within the Fairfield Hospital setting.

  • Apply adult learning principles and contemporary education methodologies to build capability, confidence and clinical excellence across the maternity workforce.

  • Demonstrated experience as a maternity nurse with a commitment to accountability, reflective practice and ongoing professional development.

  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, coach and inspire staff to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care.

  • Proven ability to design, deliver and evaluate education programs that meet the diverse learning needs of clinicians across maternity services.

  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation, professional standards and codes of conduct, with the confidence to appropriately address unsafe or unprofessional practice.

  • A positive role model who consistently demonstrates contemporary leadership behaviours and upholds the NSW Health Code of Conduct, values and expectations in everyday practice.
