Job summary

Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide is seeking a Clinical Midwife to join the Collaborative Care team. You will support women with high-risk pregnancies, work within a multidisciplinary team to provide safe, evidence-based care from antenatal assessment through postnatal support.

Reporting to the Midwifery Unit Manager, the role focuses on specialist midwifery care for complex obstetric and medical needs. This is a part-time position (24 hours per week) until February 2028.

Qualifications

• Registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
• Current practising certificate or eligibility.
• Commitment to consumer/family centred care.

About the role:

Reporting to the Midwifery Unit Manager, inthis role, you'll provide specialist midwifery care to women and birthing people with complex obstetric and medical needs, working collaboratively across a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, evidence-based care from antenatal assessment through to postnatal support.Duties for the role will include:

• Provide proficient, person centred, clinical nursing/midwifery care and/or individual case management to patients/clients in a defined clinical area,
• Monitoring patient/client care plans to ensure appropriate care outcomes are achieved on a daily basis,
• Oversee the provision of nursing/midwifery care within a team/unit,
• Assists and supports the Midwife Unit Manager or equivalent in management, clinical, and education activities,
• Plan and coordinate services including those from other disciplines

About you:

• Registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate,
• Demonstrated commitment to providing consumer/client and family centred care,
• Effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills,
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team,
• Demonstrated competence in midwifery practice in accordance with the relevant standards,
• Experience in the leadership and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses
