We are seeking a motivated and experienced Clinical Lead – Paediatrics, to work for the Department of Health (DoH) across the North West region. This role will require the successful applicant to work with the Clinical Director - Women’s and Children’s and assist with providing a high level of strategic leadership and direction, ensuring resources are efficiently utilised, services are effectively integrated within the hospital/service and the highest standards of service delivery are achieved in accordance with hospital/service policy directions, service standards and financial targets. In addition, the Clinical Lead will provide specialist paediatric medical care to patients attending the North West Regional Hospital (NWRH), Burnie and Mersey Community Hospital (MCH), Latrobe, in addition to outreach clinics across the broader North West region. The Paediatrics department provides a consultative service supported by inpatient and outpatient services, as well as outreach services located at regional centres which include the West Coast District Hospital, Smithton District Hospital and King Island District Hospital and Devonport Community Health. The NWRH provides a neonatal service and busy inpatient service. The MCH provides an ever increasing general, behavioural and community paediatrics service. The current senior staffing mix includes full time and part time Specialists with excellent Registrar and JMO support, in addition the NWRH is accredited with the RACP for Registrar training.
The DoH offers a comprehensive undergraduate and graduate clinical training program, with close ties to the University of Tasmania through the Rural Clinical School. As such, you will be responsible for providing leadership and help with the delivery of the Undergraduate general medical education program.
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
Specialist or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia in a relevant specialty.

It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change.
