Job summary

Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District is seeking a Dietitian Level 1/2 at Nepean Hospital to deliver nutrition and dietetics services across inpatients, outpatients and staff. You will assess, counsel and educate patients, manage ongoing nutritional care, and contribute to service delivery improvements.

• Tertiary qualifications in Nutrition and Dietetics and eligible for full membership of the Dietitians Australia.
• Recent and relevant clinical experience as a dietitian in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nutrition and dietetics services to inpatients, outpatients and staff.
• Deliver nutrition assessment, counselling and education with evidence-based practice.

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Dietitian to join our dynamic Nepean Dietetics team. This is an exciting opportunity for a clinician who is passionate about delivering high-quality, evidence‑based nutrition care and contributing to positive health outcomes across a diverse patient population. In this position, you will provide comprehensive nutrition and dietetics services to inpatients, outpatients, and staff across NBMLHD. Working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, you will support patients through assessment, intervention, education, and ongoing management of their nutritional needs. The successful applicant will maintain a high level of clinical expertise in general dietetics, deliver nutritional assessment, counselling and education, and contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives. The role also involves participation in multidisciplinary and departmental meetings, development of nutrition education programs, and supervision and teaching of students as required. This position is ideal for a clinician who is passionate about improving patient outcomes through evidence-based nutrition care and collaborative practice. What you will bring to the role

• Tertiary qualifications in Nutrition and Dietetics and eligible for full membership of the Dietitians Australia, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
• Recent and relevant clinical experience as a dietitian in a hospital setting
• Demonstrated ability to exercise independent professional judgement on routine matters commensurate with years of experience
• Demonstrated high level written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to work successfully and confidently as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills to manage a fast-paced and high-volume workload
• Demonstrated commitment to professional development, application of evidence-based practice, and involvement in quality improvement.
• High level computer skills in a wide variety of applications/programs, including experience with Diet Office/ Food service IT systems and ability to use information technology effectively in clinical practice
• Current Driver's Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel
