Job summary

Christies Beach Clinical Care is seeking a Weekend Clinical Care Coordinator & Nurse Mentor (Sat/Sun 07:00-15:00) to lead clinical care, coordinate resources and mentor nursing and care staff in our Christies Beach facility.

You will oversee care plans, multi-disciplinary collaboration, documentation, audits, and quality improvement, while maintaining resident‑centred care and compliant with aged care standards. If you value mentoring teams and delivering high-quality aged care, apply now.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Care Coordinator or similar leadership position.
  • Must be available Saturday & Sunday 07:00-15:00.
  • Current unrestricted Registered Nurse Div 1 with AHPRA.
  • Post graduate qualifications in aged care advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience with Aged Care clinical assessments, care plans, AN‑ACC and accreditation documentation.
  • Engaging style with ability to influence and develop clinical leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for high‑quality, resident‑centred clinical care.
  • Oversee development, implementation, and evaluation of individualised care plans.
  • Mentor and support RNs, ENs, and PCWs to strengthen clinical capability and teamwork.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary collaboration with allied health, GPs, hospitals, and families.
  • Monitor clinical activities and daily routines to maintain service excellence.
  • Lead handovers, clinical huddles, and team meetings for effective communication.
  • Manage complex resident care needs, including referrals, case reviews, and escalation.
  • Drive staff development through onboarding, training identification, coaching, and performance support.
  • Oversee quality and risk activities, audits, incident management, documentation, and improvement.
  • Minimise clinical risks and promote resident well‑being; coordinate daily workflow with senior leaders.

The Role

We have an exciting and fast paced opportunity to join the Christies Beach Clinical Care team in the role of Weekend Clinical Care Coordinator & Nurse Mentor (Saturday & Sunday shifts 07:00-15:00). This part time role reports to the General Manager, with support and guidance from the Clinical Care Manager whilst Supervising and supporting our passionate care team.The key purpose of this role is to ensure that all our residents within our beautiful facility in Christies Beach receive the highest quality of clinical care. The Clinical Care Coordinator is responsible for the management and resourcing of the care needs within the facility, documentation and assessments are up to date and in alignment with best-in-class clinical practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure high‑quality, resident‑centred clinical care.
  • Oversee development, implementation, and evaluation of individualised care plans aligned with best practice.
  • Mentor and support RNs, ENs, and PCWs to strengthen clinical capability and teamwork.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary collaboration with allied health, GPs, hospitals, and families for holistic care.
  • Monitor clinical activities and daily routines (including mealtimes) to maintain service excellence.
  • Lead effective communication processes such as handovers, clinical huddles, and team meetings.
  • Manage complex resident care needs, including specialist referrals, case reviews, and escalation of health changes.
  • Drive staff development through onboarding, training identification, coaching, and performance support.
  • Oversee quality and risk activities, including audits, incident management, documentation, and improvement initiatives.
  • Implement strategies to minimise clinical risks (falls, infections, adverse events) and promote resident well‑being.
  • Coordinate daily workflow, resource allocation, and communication with senior leaders to ensure efficient operations.
You will offer?
  • You will have an innate empathy for our residents and be committed to continually improving the quality of clinical care provided to them.
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Care Coordinator or similar leadership position
  • Must be available Saturday & Sunday 07:00-15:00
  • Current unrestricted Registered Nurse Div 1 with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Post graduate qualifications in aged care would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience and extensive knowledge of Aged Care clinical assessments, care plans, AN-ACC and accreditation compliance and documentation.
  • Engaging style that has ability to easily influence and develop clinical leadership skills across the clinical care team in an aged care environment.
  • High level of computing skills to ensure that documentation and reporting requirements can be maintained in accordance with organisational and legislative requirements.
  • A confident team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills that has a passion for leading clinical outcomes.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and have a balanced and level-headed approach to emergency and stressful situations that arise.
  • Have a valid NDIS Workers Screening Clearance (or ability to apply via ).
