Job summary

SA Health is seeking a Clinical Bioinformatician for the Central Adelaide Local Health Network SA Pathology, Microbiology and Infectious Diseases. The role focuses on pathogen genomics, whole genome sequencing, data analysis, and reporting to support clinicians and public health teams.

You will review results for analytical validity, participate in diagnostic testing, and contribute to method development, training, and research, with supervision as needed.

Qualifications

• Hold a medical science qualification meeting NPAAC requirements.
• Use laboratory computing, data retrieval and processing skills.
• Apply microbiology knowledge and laboratory quality procedures.
• Communicate clearly, prioritise work and collaborate with others.

Responsibilities

• Apply scientific and computing skills to pathogen genomics and whole genome sequencing analyses.
• Review results for analytical validity and help prepare laboratory reports.
• Contribute to diagnostic testing and the development/adoption of new methods.
• Support staff training and research within microbiology and infectious diseases.
• Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure timely, accurate results.
