Job summary

Mission Australia in Redfern is seeking a Clinical and Care Practice Quality Coordinator to lead quality improvement across three residential aged care services, with a focus on governance and resident outcomes.

As an experienced registered nurse, you will coach leaders, analyse clinical data, develop best-practice care, and drive continuous improvement across Annie Green Court, Charles Chambers Court, and Benjamin Short Grove, while collaborating with care directors and educators.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Nursing with valid AHPRA registration and HPI number.
  • Residential aged care experience and understanding of aged care standards and regulatory environment.
  • Strong clinical knowledge to interpret legislative requirements and ensure consistent care.
  • Experience analyzing data to drive quality improvements.
  • Ability to coach, mentor and influence leaders and clinical teams.
  • Willingness to travel between services; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Lead clinical practice improvement and quality initiatives across Mission Australia's residential aged care services.
  • Review clinical data, care practices and resident outcomes to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support a consistent approach to clinical governance, policies, procedures and best-practice care across multiple sites.
  • Analyse incidents, complaints, audits and performance data to drive quality and compliance outcomes.

  • Chair clinical quality committees and work with stakeholders to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Directors of Care, Nurse Educators and multidisciplinary teams to improve service quality and resident outcomes.

Your opportunity

Join Mission Australia's Residential Aged Care team and support high-quality care through continuous improvement, clinical excellence and best practice.

As a Clinical and Care Practice Quality Coordinator, you will lead and coordinate clinical practice improvement initiatives across our 3 residential aged care services - Annie Green Court (Redfern), Charles Chambers Court (Surry Hills) and Benjamin Short Grove (Orange).

Working closely with Directors of Care, Clinical Care Managers, Nurse Educators and operational leaders, you will support consistent clinical practices, strengthen clinical governance processes and drive continuous improvement across these sites.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse who is passionate about quality improvement, evidence-informed practice and supporting aged care services to deliver the highest standards of care. You will use your coaching, mentoring and influencing skills to support leaders and clinical teams to improve practice and resident outcomes.

Your key responsibilities will be to

Requirements for success
  • Degree in Nursing with valid AHPRA registration and HPI number
  • Demonstrated experience in residential aged care and a strong understanding of aged care standards, compliance requirements and the regulatory environment.
  • Strong clinical knowledge with the ability to identify best practice, interpret legislative requirements and support consistent care delivery across multiple services.
  • Experience reviewing clinical data, identifying trends and translating insights into meaningful quality and practice improvements.
  • Proven ability to coach, mentor and influence leaders and clinical teams to drive change and improve outcomes without direct authority.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to tailor your approach to a range of audiences.
  • Current Driver Licence, NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain), and the ability to travel between services as required.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Quality, Clinical Governance or a related field will be highly regarded.
  • Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
